Batman
The Bat is here! Based on the Dark Knight comics instead of the brighter Batman comics before, it features the nasty scary Batman and funny confident Bruce Wayne from this version and some seriously good fights and the Batmobile! The Jokers story is followed very closely except for the colour change which he does himself and his famous weapon of Laughing gas. He is also nasty and definitely insane. Very dark, very clever, and very funny. You have to see this.

Batman Returns
Unfortunately I never liked the original 'Batman' but this film has it all, after a rather slow start, the film speeds in to action, Michael Keaton -Batman- is great and Michelle Pfeiffer -Catwoman- does sexy but mad perfectly. the Penguin is a very good choice and Christopher Walken, although i didn't understand his character very well, seemed nasty and clever. all-in-all a Dark tale of the Dark Knight that is well worth a viewing.

The Mask
'From Zero To Hero'
Possibly the Maddest comic book hero in the world becomes what is defiantly the funniest comic book film in the world, there are only one or two times during the entire 97 minutes when it begins to drag, but it is quickly picked up again and once Jim Carrey gets started with his role, it's a whole lot of mischief and... it's SMOKIN'!. I would have expected a bit more of the Classic Dark Horse Comics Mask though, he only wears the famous yellow suit once and says he favourite saying 'I'm SMOKIN'! ' once in the entire film. It is still one of the best comedies out there and will certainly make Dark Horse Comics proud.

Spider-Man
Incredible, Amazing, Great, Ultimate, Fantastic, and pretty darn good too, Spider-man is possibly the best superhero film to date, not only because it truly gives us a good look at both halves of his life both as Peter Parker and as the webslinger, but because Tobey Maguire makes Spidey seem SO realistic. This is a film to remember, truly remember. I hope they bring out a sequel because I loved this film.

HULK
America- The HULK
This Green Giant is everything but friendly! Changing the story from the comic books to make it more realistic, This time around it is Bruce's father that is really responsible for the change, having been attempting to create a super immune system for humans, David Banner tests his serum on himself and passes it on to his son. Years later when a freak laboratory experiment exposes Bruce to Gamma radiation his immune system is forever changed, from then on, whenever he becomes angry, he is violently transformed into the Hulk. The most powerful creature on Earth, A Super-Hero and A Monster.

X-Men
It is hard to define what the best thing about X-Men is, It could be the amazing special effects and CGI that make it all seem totally real, it could be how close the film sticks to the style and story of the comics, or it could just be seeing Wolverine calling Cyclops a 'Dick', this film truly is incredible on all levels.

'Picture Yourself As A Super Hero'
If you have ever seen anything to do with the 'Fantastic Four' then you will already have an idea what this is like, The Incredibles follows the adventures of a family of former superheroes rediscovering the true reason for their powers. Now with the fate of the world hanging in the balance, the family must stick together and once again find the incredible in their family life. Including Mr incredible -The Thing, Elasti-girl -Mr Fantastic, Violet -Invisible Woman, Dash -Original, Jack Jack -slightly based on Human Torch, and Frozone -Silver Surfer. This truly is incredible.

Daredevil
Although Bullseye used to be my favourite villain, I used to feel that Bullseye had definitely the most annoying costume in the WHOLE of the Marvel Universe, so imagine my happiness when my favourite bad guy got a look that seemed to reflect the madness within, not only has he got rid of the overly elaborate, brightly coloured spandex. But he's got a target BRANDED onto his forehead, I have one question though, although he plays the part brilliantly, Kingpin is black? well even with a new colour of skin, he is still evil but also shows another side of Kingpin not usually noticed or fulfilled in the pages of the comic books, fear. That's right, fear, he's shows it only for half a second but it's lingering, Look out for it.

Spider-Man 2
'Digs on the one who questioned whether there would be a sequel!' of course there would, and how do you expand on a near-perfect film? Why by giving it a perfect sequel of course. And that is exactly what this is, in this episode of brilliance the mild-mannered Peter Parker has been living his double life as both Pete and Webhead for almost two years and Green Goblin is just a memory, a bad memory, a very bad memory eating away at Harry Osborn's sanity, ok, so that's a bit over the top, but he is swearing vengeance against his fathers killer, who just happens to secretly be his best friend and the protector of all of Manhattan city. A bit of a problem you might say. What's even more of a problem is the new 'baddie' that's decided to bother our little friend, Otto Octavius, a genius scientist that Peter Parker looks up to is involved in an accident in which his life's work is destroyed and four metal, self-thinking arms are attached to his body. Lets just say that Spidey really just isn't a people person. This also includes one of the best fights in all cinema history in a climax on a speeding train.

Spider-Man 2 UMD
Now he's the smallest swinger in town! With the new UMD DVD's comes a smaller version of the action. But no excitement is lost in the transfer. Although the disc and screen are smaller, the picture still shows up clearly and the sound perfectly. Even without all the extras, this is still a god buy for anyone with a PlayStation Portable system.

Hellboy
Very clever, very funny and very dark. This tells the entering of Hellboy into Earth, a couple of his 'missions', a glimpse at what his life is like and of course the hastening of the apocalypse. He fights fire with fire and doesn't play by the rules, he's a tough nut demon killer, the son of a demon brought to Earth by Nazi's using dark magic but he's a nice guy really. Nuts!

Batman Begins
Puts in place what the original missed out, the beginning of the Dark Knight, including his beginnings, his up-bringing and his training. Villains include his teacher Ra's al Ghul and the madman doctor 'Scarecrow'. Unfortunately there is no fixed bad guy as they are all picked off one-by-one in quick succession. But for the most part, this is one hell of a good movie.

Fantastic 4
The longest Running comic book now becomes a blockbuster film, after the awful attempt in 1994, we were getting worried on what this would be like, especially as the first films Johnny Storm 'flame on' scene was hand-drawn, but this film not only meets all of our expectations but beats us round the head with a large metal pole for lowering them aswell. We would have hoped for more action from 4 superheroes and a bad-ass villain but we'll get over it.

Ghost Rider
This is a good film to look out for, stunt biker Johnny Blaze trades his soal to the demon Mephistophelis for his tutors life, unfortunately, Mephisto cheats him and his tutor dies the next day in another incident anyway, Johnny is doomed to serve Mephisto for all eternity, oddly though, Mephisto isn't the main villain of the film but his son Blackheart. The film has such a large build up that by the time he becomes the Rider, the rest of the film becomes extremely rushed, still. The actual change into Ghost Rider IS cool, and the fights are great if short. We would like to see a bit more of the Blackheart out of the comic book and perhaps even Mephisto’s Realm in the sequel but the film is definitely good. Now, what’s happened to the Spider?

Spider-Man 3
After spending the day persuading my mum that I DID infact need to go to see this on release date on the first viewing I finally got there, and it was definitely worth it!! This is truly THE best superhero film in the world, with three enemies and the dark side of the Spider and a new love interest Peters definitely got his work cut out for him. The film mainly revolves around Peter Parker, Mary- Jane and Sandman. Harry Osborn felt at times to be thrown in for fun but at the end it is seen for what it truly is. Harry's character is great, Eddie Brocks character is great, Peter Parkers characters are great -read below-, Flint Marko's charccter is great and Mary- Jane’s character is great. But Venom? what the heck have they done to Venom?!? the suit is one of the main storylines of the film but Venom himself only gets about ten minutes maximum to do anything, he morphs, he fights, he dies. That’s another weird thing... Venom is killed whereas in the comic he is invincible in this film he gets blown up. The script is going to have to be very good for film 4 if they are going to bring in Carnage or bring back Venom. Peter Parker becomes very arrogant and darker as a person but at the end all his mistakes come back to get him. If they make another film I will love them, if they don't then for once I think I’ll let them off with just this. This film takes all the expectations and worries set down by the second and blows them all away with any one of the fights. I LOVE SPIDEY! and so does the big screen!

Transformers
Whether you like it or not, robots can be heroes, if you don't belive me you should watch this film. It is absoulutly fantastic. Suitable for all ages and enjoyable, it caters for every need you will ever have. Laugh-out-loud mixed with fast paced action, and a really fit actress, this is a must see for any superhero fan.
TJ's Professional Opinion:
The basic outline of the story is that an alien race comes to Earth looking for their power source. They are the Transformers and have the ability to turn into any electronic object. Unfortunately so does their nemesis Megatron who has already got here and has been cryogenically frozen by humans. The main character Sam manages to befriend the Transformers and helps save the world. The best thing about the film is the fight scene at the end! Also watch out for a clever use of an American landmark.
