Spider-Man 2:Enter Electro                                                                                                                     PSone
‘The battle for New York has begun’
The 2nd Spider-Man game of the PSone and alot of fun, swing through the levels popping onto buildings to beat up the bad guys, then swing off again. As the title suggests, this time around the main villain is Electro, but he isn’t alone... aswell as his thugs, electro has hired some of the top villains of the Spider-man comics to help him in his scheme to bring the city to his knees. Plus, this time around Spidey’s got a new set of attacks and combos including Ice and even Taser-webbing although where these are in the comic books or Animated series is yet to be known. And then there’s the ‘create a spider’ mode, where you get to create your very own Spidey, this lets you equip Spidey with the right tools for the right job by mix and match suits and powers. Famous suits such as the symbiotic and powers/cheats such as unlimited webbing and double strength to make your perfect Spider.

Spider-Man: The Movie                                                                                                                  PlayStation 2
‘Go beyond the movie’
Based on the recent film of the same name, Spider-man sees you as Peter Parker, learning to use his new powers and becoming a hero. In terms of game play, it handles alot like the older games, combat is simple but fun and you can even go against Bone Saw in the cage match as wrestler Spidey. The graphics are amazing and there are many more villains than in the movie, each with a good storyline and reason for being there, Spider-Man is funny and there is a large unlock section using points from the story missions. I would have expected some clips from the film to be used considering the circumstances but the cut-scene are good and all-in-all the film makes a large donation to the game and so all that’s left is to have fun, ‘But beware- the city’s villains won’t be pleased to see a new hero on the Scene’

'Prepare To Meet Your Maker'
Wolverine from the beginning. Breaking out is easy, staying out is the hard bit. Fight famous villains and arch-enemies of both Wolverine and the X-Men such as Magneto and Sabretooth. The claws come out unleashing the true powers of Wolverine without even getting hurt, and if by chance one does hit, they have even included his Regenerating ability if you can stay away from thugs for long enough. To save the world, some times you need to save yourself.

HULK                                                                                                                                           PlayStation 2
'Unleash The Fury!'
A bit of a mental game on our hands here, one one side you have Hulk, green giant, likes smashing up stuff...on the other we have Bruce Banner, quite but haunted young man that hides in shadows and winges when people hit him. Put them together and you have quite an amusing game. Play as Hulk and you can smash up everything you see. throw people, cars, walls, anything. Then play as Banner, sneak, hide, push and hide again. There is alot more strategy in this than expected and it is welcomed. One wierd thing though is the movies and cutscenes that are done extremely shiney and over-exagerated. All-in-all a great game.

The Incredibles                                                                                                         PlayStation 2
'Super Strength. Super Speed. Invisibilty. Elasticity.'
Are you ready to play as one of the world's greatest superheroes? Based on the Fantastic Four, the Incredibles elevates games to the next level. Play as all four of the Incredibles in turn. Love dashes levels, outrun cars but be careful of being hit. Elastigirls levels are full of funny stretch missions, holding onto Helicopters and smacking into walls. Mr Incredibles levels are the best, pushing people off buildings, jump from building to building, even break through them, break bad guys backs and beat big bosses. The whole game is based on The Fantastic four and it shows with Syndrome having similar powers to Dr Doom. Some parts do seem a bit hard for a +7 rating though, I kept getting crushed by the Leaperbot. But apart from this an Incredible experience of an Incredible game.

Whoa, this is truly THE biggest step forwards in Superhero game history, Spider-man 2 gives you total control over the game and the way you play. Do anything Spider-Man can with amazing new powers and combos, Battle Doctor Octopus and other classic villains from the comic books and animated TV programs. Go anywhere and interact with anyone whilst Web swinging from street to rooftop across the EHTIRE city. I cannot explain just how much you can do in this game but this time you can go everywhere. Climb to the top of the Empire State Buildings and then dive back down to the busy living streets around times square, run inside buildings of New York and have total rein over Manhattan and remember 'From random crime to global threat, the entire city is relying on you to save it.'

Batman Begins                                                                                                                        PlayStation 2
'Fear Is Your Weapon'
Ok, so it's not the best, but it's got the basic idea. Play the movie, Stalk your enemies from out of the shadows unleashing powerful moves based on the movie, Take on scarecrow and Ra's al Ghul, Rip up the streets of Gotham using the awesome power of the new tank-like Batmobile and laugh at the results of your tricks on the thugs that get in your way, Be Batman.

Ultimate Spider-Man                                                                                                                PlayStation 2
'Be Legendary. Be Predatory. Be Both.'
Spider-Man 2 + Venom. Good with the spider, with added mayhem, Swing to the rescue as Spider-Man or smash your way through the city as the indestructible Venom, Venom is great, incredible powers and huge jumps, but there is a problem, Hunger! that’s right, forget to feed your suit for too long and it goes bye bye, Complete this with plenty of Unlockables and more Marvel characters than you could fit in a gym closet and you have a truly amazing game. It could do with a multi-player mode, for some hero vs. villain two player action but having total control over both characters compensates for this. Remember, YOU choose your own path.

Ghost Rider                                                                                                                             PlayStation 2
With the unlockable moves, upgradeable attacks, bike levels and Vengeance fire mode this is one of the 'hottest' games out around now. Set after the film as a sequel the first level throws you straight into the 'fire'. The game switches between walking and running levels to show off both the fighting and of course the "rider" of the character. The game designers are aloud full access to marvel information and aloud to change alot but stick to the style of the recent film. With unlockable movies, comics, galleries and characters including another dark Marvel character the Half-vampire 'Blade' and different Spirits of Vengeance. This game puts all the others on ice.

Spider-Man 3                                                                                                                       PlayStation 2
'Every Hero Has A Dark Side... Unleash It.'
There are mixed thoughts on this game, on the one hand it is an amazing game that does justice to the character including new attacks, gang takeovers and the black suit, on the other hand Spider-Man 2 was better. Now we say that because when Ultimate Spider-man came out they changed alot that didn't need to be changed such as the webbing and certainly it was good enough but after Spider-Man 2 got it perfect it was a shame that they felt the need to change it. And this one keeps them, webbing is still R2 but now boost is X, why? the whole game seems to go somewhat back to SM: The Movie in its storyline where sandman literally is buried under the sand instead of turning into it, all the Hollywood gloss of Spider-Man 2 has gone leaving graphics that look half done and game play that needs tweaking, Harry really isn't given justice at all, he appears twice in the entire game and instead of an exiting ending Harry blows himself up in Sandman, Venom falls over and dies and MJ grins her not-so-MJ face off at you and snogs alot. The whole game feels more like a demo for the Playstation 3 version than an actual game as they've taken out most of the highlights they were boasting about since they mentioned having the game. The Black suit feels tacked on aswell, if you use it too much it starts to consume you needing you to wrestle it off, that is understandable but there are also no extra powers given out during this 'state' and when you get to the end of the game you lose it and can't get it back until you find around 100 spider tokens that are all over walls and rooftops. Plus Lizard is supposed to be in the next film but they've included a pathetic storyline of big lizards and a dinosaur looking Connors, now don't get me wrong I do love this game and Spider-Man is my favourite Hero but after the big leap between Spider-Man: The Movie and Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man 3 had alot to live up to and on Playstation 2 it just can't. Role on PS3 then and lets see if we can fix him.

Rogue Trooper                                                                                                                      PlayStation 2

Based on the comics of the same name, this game is an amazing first-person-shooter with great graphics, a very well done storyline and a challenging set of missions. the weapons are pure genius with everything from sniper to mortar given a 'Nu-Earth' makeover. Well worth a look for anyone that's read the comics and even those that haven't. I myself hadn't but was amazed by it all the same. Worth looking out for.

Spider-Man: Friend or Foe                                                                                                         PlayStation 2
A lighthearted and amusing game that follows on from the 3rd film with a simbiote invasion. Manages to look cool even when unrealistic. The combat is simple but fun and the story and Levels are funny. However, this is still SERIOUSLY a big step back for Spider-Man games, after the now common freeroam games of recent, the return to level based gameplay feels under-rated. Infact, this feels more like Ultimate Alliance than Spider-Man, you can't even swing properly! Still, the LEGO games feel of character collecting is quite amusing and the special attacks are quite cool. Still, the series does need to change back to the now quite necessary open city gameplay if it is going to continue. All-in-all quite fun and definatly worth a look in but stick to Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man 3 or Ultimate Spider-Man for funner and more fufilling Spidey fun.

TRANSFORMERS The Game                                                                                                       PlayStation 2
'Protect or Destroy'
Crash land on Earth and rampage through the levels. I love Bumblebee's levels going agent boss Decepticons and play as Optimus Prime shooting people. Unfortunatly they don't die so it is annoying but I guess he wouldn't be much of a hero if they did. Playing as the Decepticons however should get rid of this...SHOULD but doesn't. Fly though the sky, race through the streets, and tranform instantly into a robot. And save the Allspark.
